What we can provide

Stornoway Port offers a wide range of modern facilities and provides comprehensive support services to port users

Water

Fresh Water is available via hose connections from piers 1,2,3, and Esplanade Quay. Vessels requiring fresh water should contact Stornoway Harbour on VHF channel 12.

The master of a ship bound for the Port of Stornoway, other than a ship in regular scheduled service, is required to notify the Port of Stornoway of delivery of waste and cargo residues: (This will be recorded in the CERS workbook, which is a mandatory reporting system required by the MCA)

Waste

The Port of Stornoway provides reception facilities for ship–generated garbage wastes which include the following:

  • Plastic
  • Food waste (including International Catering Waste)
  • Ground-down paper products, rags, glass, metal, bottles, crockery etc.
  • Cargo residues, paper products, rags, glass, metal, bottles, crockery etc.

Bunkering

Large vessels are bunkered by road tankers at No.3 Pier, No.2 Pier and Esplanade Quay. There is a fuelling facility at the northend of Esplanade Quay, operated by Stornoway Port on behalf of the local authority, for fuelling fishing vessels and leisure craft.

Visitors not registered with Comhairle nan Eilean Siar may be able to obtain fuel on completion of the Stornoway Port Authority registration form. Please contact Stornoway Port Office for assistance.
